The TDM Reservation Protocol provides ways to express reservations and discover licensing policies; its published 2024 report explicitly says it is a Community Group specification, not a W3C Standard. TDMRep. C2PA specifies tamper-evident provenance assertions; those assertions do not themselves decide whether the asserted rights are legally sufficient. C2PA specification.
For EU-related supply, Article 53 requires relevant providers to maintain a copyright policy and publish a training-content summary. A protocol implementation is a component of a workflow, not a substitute for meeting the legal duty. Article 53.
Test standards against your actual delivery path. Save the reservation policy version, test header/file behaviour, record who can alter rights metadata and verify that export tools preserve it. Ask how conflicting assertions are resolved. The useful output is evidence of operation plus the contract and rights records, not a compliance badge.
